About VillaVerify

VillaVerify is a free, independent tool that helps holiday renters check whether a villa or rental listing in the Balearic Islands is what it claims to be before they pay.

Every legal holiday rental in the Balearics must hold a tourist licence and display its number. Those licences are recorded in official public registers kept by each island's Consell (Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera). The registers are accurate, but they are scattered, hard to search, and few travellers know they exist. VillaVerify brings them together and makes the check take seconds.

What we do

• Check a licence number against the official registers and tell you what's on record: the island, municipality, licensed capacity and licence type, with the date our data was last updated.
• List operators in a directory of villa managers and agencies, with a Verified badge for those we have manually checked.
• Explain the risks in plain language, so you can spot the warning signs yourself.

What we are not

We are not a government body, and a match on VillaVerify is not an official certificate. Our checks are automated and can be wrong or out of date, so always do your own due diligence before paying. We tell you what the public register says; the final judgement is yours.

Who is behind it

VillaVerify is an independent project by Balearic Waves SL, the company behind the Ibiza villa brand Domundos. We built it because fake and unlicensed listings hurt every honest operator and every guest, including us. To keep it fair, our own brand is checked and shown by exactly the same standard as everyone else, and the verdict is never for sale. See our fairness charter.
