1. An automated assessment, not a certification
Almost every result you see on VillaVerify (a licence-number check, a URL check, an operator's risk signals) is produced automatically by comparing what you submitted against public register data and other publicly observable signals. We call this a "check" or a "verify," never a certification, and a "Verified" operator badge is never called "Certified." VillaVerify is not an official body: not the Balearic government, not any island Consell, not a consumer-protection authority, and not a law firm.
2. We can be wrong
Automated results depend on the accuracy and freshness of public register data, which can lag reality, and on signals (domain age, legal-notice presence, review metadata, and similar) that can be misread. Every result carries a "data as of [date]" stamp showing how current our underlying data was. Always check that date. We do not guarantee that any result is accurate, complete, or current.
3. "High risk" is not the same as "Confirmed scam"
Automated tiers (including "High risk") are risk-phrased statements based on available signals, not accusations that a person or business has done anything wrong. Only the "Confirmed scam" label involves manual review: documented evidence, an attempted right-of-reply, human approval, and an on-page appeal route. See our Content, UGC & Blacklist Policy for exactly how that label is decided.
4. A "Verified" badge is not an endorsement
A Verified badge on an operator profile reflects documented checks we carried out ourselves at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of that operator's future conduct, financial soundness, or legal compliance, and it is not an endorsement, partnership, or recommendation by Balearic Waves SL. See our Operator Terms.
5. No warranty; no liability for reliance
VillaVerify is provided free of charge and "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for losses arising from reliance on a result, including a booking, deposit, or payment made on the strength of a VillaVerify check. Use VillaVerify as one input among several, always confirm anything material directly with the official register, and read our 5 steps before you rent and How to avoid getting scammed guides before you commit to renting a property.
6. Something looks wrong?
If you think a result, licence match, or operator listing is incorrect, you can ask us to review it, or protest a "Confirmed scam" label through the appeal route on that page. Contact: hello@villaverify.com. See our full Terms of Use and Content, UGC & Blacklist Policy for the complete process.
